Youth Leader Job Description

Job Title: Youth Leader

Reports to: Senior Pastor

Looking for: Part-time

Compensation: $1,000/month

Job Summary:

The Youth Leader at First Baptist Church of Vacaville (FBCVV) develops a spiritual foundation for the life of each youth, from 7th grade to High School, so that they become aware of God’s love and follow Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

The Youth Leader encourages the student's spiritual growth and equips them to develop a biblical worldview and a love for God. The Youth Leader works closely with the Senior Pastor and children’s ministry leaders.

Qualifications:

As an ideal candidate, you must be Christ-centered, possessing a strong personal commitment to the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ. You must be a strong spiritual leader, self-motivated, and creative. You must be highly relational, possess a strong team mentality, and lead staff/volunteer teams to provide a detailed Youth ministry program. You must also have experience serving in youth or children's ministry, and you should have attained—as a minimum—a high school diploma.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  1. Develop and continually evaluate a strategic plan for the Youth Ministry of FBCVV that aligns with the church’s mission statement.

  2. Provide leadership, direction, and mentoring to the youth of FBCVV.

  3. Lead and teach a weekly Youth community group that studies God’s word and fellowships with one another.

  4. Develop and execute a communication plan within the ministry that includes a social media presence.

  5. Develop ways for students of FBCVV to serve our community in various service projects.

  6. Develop and implement outreach opportunities for students to serve the children of our community, potentially through local schools.

  7. Equip parents to be involved in the spiritual formation of their children.

  8. Attend worship and become a member of FBCVV.
